Solar battery grants in the Balearic Islands 2026: how much you get and the requirements
In 2026 the Balearic Government’s FACTOR programme funds self-consumption batteries: 45% of the eligible cost for private individuals, with applications until 28 February 2027. We explain how it is calculated, what the rules require and how to size the battery to make the most of it.
How much: 45% for private individuals
FACTOR 2026 (programme 3) funds new self-consumption storage, including batteries added to an existing solar installation. The rate depends on the type of applicant:
| Applicant | Grant |
|---|---|
| Private individual, owners’ association without business activity or company under de minimis | 45% |
| Small company | 40% |
| Medium-sized company | 35% |
| Large company | 30% |
Maximum cost per kWh: it depends on the total capacity
The grant is calculated on the real cost of the battery, with a maximum per kWh that depends on its total capacity. The band applies to the whole capacity, not in slices, and only the first 200 kWh count:
| Battery capacity | Maximum eligible cost |
|---|---|
| Up to 10 kWh | €910/kWh |
| 10 to 100 kWh | €650/kWh |
| 100 to 200 kWh | €455/kWh |
Examples: how much the grant can be
Maximum grant for a private individual (45%) by capacity. If the battery costs less than the maximum eligible cost, the grant is 45% of its real cost.
| Capacity | Maximum eligible cost | Maximum grant (45%) |
|---|---|---|
| 5 kWh | €4,550 | €2,048 |
| 10 kWh | €9,100 | €4,095 |
| 13.5 kWh (Tesla Powerwall 3) | €8,775 | €3,949 |
| 20 kWh | €13,000 | €5,850 |
Watch the 10 kWh threshold
Because the band applies to the whole capacity, a 10 kWh battery allows up to €9,100 of eligible cost, more than a 13.5 kWh one (€8,775). That does not mean fitting a smaller battery: we choose it for your night-time use, but we take this threshold into account when comparing options.
Requirements in the rules
For the battery to qualify, the programme requires:
- New equipment (second-life batteries from electric vehicles are accepted).
- A manufacturer’s performance warranty of at least 5 years.
- No lead-acid batteries.
- Capacity up to 200 kWh; above that, only the first 200 kWh are funded.
- An installation that works without a transformer and totals 500 kW or less.
- A monitoring system for the stored energy.
Deadline and how to apply
Applications are open until 28 February 2027 or until the budget runs out. The grant is paid after the battery is installed, the investment is documented and the file is resolved, so you pay upfront. We prepare and file the application with the technical documentation.
