The Balearic FACTOR 2026 programme: closed on 17 October 2026. What it covered and what remains
The Balearic Government closed applications for FACTOR 2026 on 17 October 2026 because the budget had run out. Here is what the programme covered, what happens if you have already applied and which incentives are still available.
FACTOR 2026: applications closed
FACTOR 2026 was published in BOIB no. 83 on 2 July 2026, with an application window due to run until February 2027 or until the budget ran out. Applications exceeded the programme’s funding, including any possible extension, and BOIB no. 132 of 17 October 2026 closed the window that same day.
New applications can no longer be submitted under any strand: solar panels for businesses and associations, batteries, heat pumps and EV charging points. There is no date for a new call; we are keeping an eye out for the next one. The table summarises the conditions of the 2026 call, now closed, for reference. For homeowners, FACTOR 2026 did not fund solar panels on private homes, only batteries, EV charging points and heat pumps.

Batteries: how the FACTOR 2026 grant was calculated
For homeowners, the grant was 45% of the eligible cost. That cost had a maximum per kWh that depended on the total capacity of the battery: the band applied to the whole capacity, not in slices (table 5 of the rules):

Example under FACTOR 2026: a 13.5 kWh battery
A 13.5 kWh battery such as the Tesla Powerwall 3 fell in the 10 to 100 kWh band, so its whole capacity counted at €650/kWh: the maximum eligible cost was €8,775 and the grant at most about €3,949 (45%). If the battery actually cost less, the 45% applied to the real cost. Because of the band threshold, a 10 kWh battery allowed up to €9,100 (€910/kWh), more than a 13.5 kWh one.
For those who have already applied, the final amount is set in the award decision, which depends on the paperwork and on full compliance with the rules.
If you have already applied: decision and supporting documents
Applications submitted before the closure continue as normal. The decision arrives within 6 months of the application and, after that, the installation has to be documented and justified. If you have already applied, we help you with that step. Most delayed files stall on formalities, so we check:
- That the project dates match what the rules require.
- That the system is fully registered as self-consumption.
- Invoices and bank transfers in the applicant’s name.
- That the applicant is up to date with tax and social security.
- Photos, data sheets and certificates required by the call.
Incentives still available
The closure of FACTOR 2026 does not affect these other benefits, which you can still use today:
- Municipal IBI (property tax) and ICIO (building tax) rebates: many Mallorca town halls reduce IBI for several years and the ICIO on the works when you install solar. Conditions vary by municipality and bylaw, so we check them in each case.
- Spanish income-tax deductions on a main or rented home: the state 40% deduction for energy-efficiency works completed by 31 December 2026 and the Balearic regional 50% deduction, each with its income limits. Both require an energy certificate before and after.
- Energy Saving Certificates (CAE) when an oil, gas or propane boiler is replaced with a heat pump.
- Heat pump finance: Vaillant’s PLAN6000YA and Vaillant Finanza with BBVA.
