FACTOR 2026 grants for commercial solar: now closed
Unlike homes, businesses could get direct grants for solar panels. The Balearic government’s FACTOR 2026 programme (BOIB no. 83, 2 July 2026) covered between 40 % and 70 % of the installation depending on company size, for plants up to 500 kWp, as well as battery storage and EV charging points.
The programme closed to applications on 17 October 2026 (BOIB no. 132) because requests exceeded the available budget. If your company already applied, the decision arrives within six months of the application and the installation must then be justified: we help you with that paperwork. We are keeping an eye on any future call.
What your business produces and saves
According to PVGIS, each kWp in Mallorca produces between 1,350 and 1,590 kWh a year. A 50 kWp plant on a warehouse or hotel roof generates around 78,000 kWh a year. If the business uses 80 % of that during the day, at €0.15/kWh the saving exceeds €9,000 a year, with the surplus credited on the bill.
With figures like these a commercial system usually pays back within a few years — sooner still with municipal rebates where they apply. In the study we give you payback and return based on your real data, not averages.
Roofs, pergolas and solar car parks
We install on sandwich panel, sheet metal, concrete and tiled roofs, flush or tilted, with fixings that respect the waterproofing. If the roof is unsuitable or too small, we propose solar pergolas or canopies over the car park, which also shade the vehicles.
On buildings with fibre-cement roofs nothing can go on top until the roof is dealt with: we explain the options and coordinate replacement with authorised contractors so the project is viable.
Storage, contracted power and charging
We integrate batteries to shift energy to expensive hours, reduce contracted power and secure supply for critical processes. We add charging points for the electric fleet, staff and customers, and manage the energy so everything runs without exceeding the contracted power.
Hotels and tourist accommodation
In a hotel, hot water and air conditioning make up a very large part of the bill. We combine solar with Vaillant or Saunier Duval heat pumps to produce hot water and condition the building with solar electricity, reducing reliance on oil or gas and improving the establishment’s energy rating.
Tax advantages and rebates
The investment is depreciated for tax purposes, and many Mallorcan town halls reduce property tax (IBI) and building tax (ICIO) for self-consumption — in some cases business tax (IAE) too. We tell you what applies in your municipality and handle it.
